The battle between Stag beer and Carib beer drinkers in Trinidad and Tobago is legendary, despite both being brewed by the same factory on the same premises. However, this feud It is in the realm of Pepsi vs Coke. However, a new competitor has entered the fray and Carib Beer drinkers are squabbling about Carib vs Carib B.L.U.E.
CARIB PREMIUM LAGER
The regular Carib Premium Lager boasts an ABV of 5% in a 275ml bottle and retails usually for $10.00 TTD, this drink is one of the foundations of any Trinidad fete or lime. It usually sits side by side with Stag Larger Beer in most coolers for those to consume as their preference thirsts.
Now Carib does have various skews like Carib Pilsner light and usually flirts with other such variants, but the new Carib B.L.U.E is something special it flexes to be ULTRA PREMIUM STRONG LARGER.
CARIB B.L.U.E ULTRA PREMIUM LAGER
This new Carib B.L.U.E Ultra Premium Strong Lager, boats an ABV of 6% in a 275ml bottle and retails for $11.00 TTD the neck tag even states that it has been enjoyed since 1950!!!!
Now, I am not calling Carib Brewery liars, but it could be that the unwashed plebs like myself never got the good stuff till now… 71 years later… Or maybe this is a re-vamp, or they have done limited runs… who knows? Surely Carib has not said!
We don’t even know what B.L.U.E stands for, but I digress, the most important factor is the taste. People claim the B.L.U.E variant is smoother than its parent with a hoppy rich taste, while a good friend of mine said ‘waste of ducking money!’ but he did not say the word ducks… we run a clean house here… mostly.
